Mt Olympus – Then and now

Image

finally picked off the line that had bugged me for years on this face, the dead-end chute on lookers R with Nick Suttecliffe(photo credit). And another that I’d never seen before on the left…it was very, very fat and unlike NZ

P1030114 (2)307733_10151199951981558_392671558_n amazing photo by christchurch based photographer (and NZ’s best woman snowboard mountaineer) Tess Carney…this shot is a real gem. look at the tow, the cloud on little alaska, the liquid rakia sunset…glorious

These last ones were August 2010.

A special place to me, where I began patrolling.  A stronger a sense of home than any other hill I’ve ever lived at.  Real Deal kiwis, this place is mainly the domain of high clearance 4wd’s and high country farmers, and I hope that never changes. WWSC.  The riding aint bad either!  most of my shots are on film at home but heres a few early ones…ImageImage
