For the ininitiated, the clubfields of NZ are a bit of an enigma.  How to explain; great terrain, big hills, small operation and infrastructure, owned and run by the founding clubs to a greater or lesser degree (olympus is still very much a family affair!) who lasted the roads and built the rudimentary rope tows.  little lodges on hill, not much else.
